A Japanese Saga [2]

The Prefectural Art Museum & the Saga Castle

The Saga Prefecture is located in the north west part of the Kyushu Island of Japan.

Although I had the maps, it was not possible to explore beyond the precincts of the university without the help of Japanese students due to the restrictions imposed by the language. But the Japanese students were more than willing to help me out and we set out to explore the major attractions of the region
in a couple of cars belonging to them,
The first destination was the Prefectural Art Museum
The Village Belle
and the Noble man
The Swords
and the bed for the eternal rest
When the young ones
unleashed their imagination...
philosophically.....
 artistically
elegantly...
creatively..
and displaying their concern for the earth and the environment
Then we crossed the road on feet....
to enter the Saga Castle

recreated from the ruins of...
an ancient castle
it's the largest wooden reconstruction undertaken in Japan
The Barba Papa
The Saga History
and the precious collection in the castle
the models of...

ancient war ships
Glimpses of ancient Japanese engineering
historic figures
early locos
and how they worked...
the coat of a martyr
and the tiny models
the foot soldiers....
carrying the gentry
The  History on visuals
and the historic remains

at last we got out....
.....into the lawns of the palace
and then listened to this musician at the lobby of a shopping mall
The next destination...
was the game station
Asohi Douraku
trying his luck to win a toy
battling it out at the 'Flushing Meadows'....
.....accompanied by the beating of the drum...
and of all the colours....
........red was the dominant......
.....flashing bright
Had a go at bowling.....
and thought that was a decent score for a first timer :-)
and then to the hippodrome.......
not for gambling....
nor for riding....
The Aliens!!!
And the Cube was waiting all alone...
and the dinner was at Moulin Rouge!
and I had rice with Karaage and the Cabbage

Sir, you're really getting onto to be very good at this. Now that you've got a decent digicam, i'll say tht it's high time you started a photoblog. You'll do gr8 esp with your nice pics n the adorable captions :). It was really like a walk thru the locations you'd captured in your camera. Do give it a thought sir
